State of Uttarakhand election 2017 is gearing itself for the Vidhan Sabha election. The election is necessitated because the tenure of five years for the State Assembly is about to end in the year 2017. The election Commission of India will soon be announcing the complete schedule for the polling session which will be duly supervised by the Election Commission of the state of Uttarakhand. There are a total of 70 seats in the Legislative Assembly of the State. The term of office for the Members of Legislative Assembly ends on the 26th of March 2016. As these seats will fall vacant the election session will be held.

Uttarakhand Election India Today, India TV Survey Result
The Uttarakhand election 2017 conducted by India Today Axis poll depicts that the surgical strike will be a way to victory for BJP. It shows that BJP is expected to win 38-43 sears with 43% of votes. Congress on the other hand will get 26 to 31 seats with 39% of votes. 18% votes will be divided among other political elements.
Another poll conducted by India TV shows that Congress party is expected to win 34 to 38 seats out of a total of 70. BJP is expected to be capturing near about 20 to 24 seats. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) may win 6 to 10 seats while the remaining 3 to 5 seats will be claimed by other parties or independent candidates.
Another poll has given a clean sweep victory to BJP with a claim upon 63 seats out of a total of 7 seats. The Congress party will get a share of 7 seats only.
Presently Indian National Congress (INC) party is ruling the state while BJP is the strongest opposition party. INC won 32 seats while BJP bagged 31 seats. Later INC claimed a majority with 36 seats while BJP had only 28 seats in its bag.
