The state Government of Uttarakhand will be having an end to its tenure of five years in the year 2017. Thus, the Uttarakhand Election of Vidhan Sabha poll will be conducted in the year 2017 therefore, the political parties and leaders have begun their preparations for the future election. The state is recently governed by Indian National Congress (INC) party with Chief Minister Harish Rawat as its representative.
The opposition party is Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) which is the strongest competitor against Congress party. The other parties which are present in the state which are often referred as the dark horses are Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Samajwadi Party (SP) and Uttarakhand Kranti Dal etc. There are other independent candidates in the state who turn out to be the king makers in the state.
There are a total of 70 seats for the Vidhan Sabha of the state of Uttarakhand. The one who claims majority of the seats become the victorious one. In the state of Uttarakhand, majority of the seat of Lok Sabha are held by the BJP. This fact may become a point of benefit for the BJP. On the other hand the recent hullaballoo in Congress party where its own members left Congress to become part of BJP may also prove to be an adverse point. Moreover BJP ahs its own pocket of voters which the Congress lacks in. yet Congress is quite confident of winning the Uttarakhand Election 2017 on the basis of the progress and development of the state.
The INC party is seen chanting the slogan of VIKAS- Development to attract the voters to choose their party again. On the other hand the opposition parties are striving hard to corner the Congress party by lime lighting the failures or incomplete projects. In the previous poll as well there was a close competition between BJP and Congress where Congress led the poll result by one seat.
