On the 3rd of February 2017 the poll session for the 5 major Maharashtra MLC Teacher’s Graduates constituencies is to be held. The polls in the state of Maharashtra are always significant and exciting. The Maharashtra MLC Graduates Election poll is significant because the five vacant seats are being desired by every political party to strengthen in the state.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) declared that the model code of conduct is being implemented. Every political party is required to confine their activities within the norms of code of election. The seats which have fallen vacant are of Nagpur, Amravati, Konkan, Aurangabad and Nashik.
The term of office for these constituencies ended on the 5th of December 2016. The poll could not be conducted so far because of Smaharashtrareme Court’s order. Smaharashtrareme Court ordered that preparation of electoral roll is necessitated.
The five seats of Maharashtra MLC Legislative Council fell vacant due to the retirement of its sitting members. There are around 76 candidates who are in the race of polling for the Vidhan Parishad. Congress is contesting for three of the five seats. While National Congress Party (NCP) is in race for two seats. The Shive Sena and BJP are also contesting for the five seats of Vidhan Parishad.
The polling session will be conducted on 3rd February this year. The State Election Commission (SEC) of Maharshtra has released the list of polling stations beforehand. The voters must have their names registered and must provide their valid voter id for the purpose of voting.

The Legislative Council (Vidhan Parishad) of state of Maharashtra comprises of 78 seats. The leader of the House is Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) while National Conference Party (NCP) is the strongest opposition party in the House.
The Maharashtra MLC Teachers/Graduates constituencies which have fallen vacant are:
- Nagpur MLC Teacher’s Constituency seat where its member Ganar Nago Pundlik retired on 5th December 2016.
- Konkan MLC Teacher’s Constituency seat where its member Mote Ramnath Dada retired on 5th December 2016.
- Aurangabad MLC Teacher’s Constituency seat where its member Kale Vikram Vasantrao retired on 5th December 2016.
- Amravati MLC Graduate’s Constituency seat where its member Patil Ranjit Vitthalrao retired on 5th December 2016.
- Nashik MLC Graduate’s Constituency seat where its member Tambe Sudhir Bhaskir retired on 5th December 2016.
The Election Commission will announce the Maharashtra MLC (Teachers/Graduates) Election Counting Result of the poll on the 6th of February 2017. The complete process of voting will be accomplished by the 9th of February this year. These seats will ultimately get their new representatives.
