The Odisha Panchayat Election 2017 will going started from 13th Feb. The announcement made by the State Election Commission (SEC) notified the people of state about the Odisha Gram Panchayat Election 2017 schedule. The code of poll was duly put into effect. Odisha Panchayat poll brought relief along with responsibility for the state government employees. The employees of state government and other aided institutes will be able to avail a three days leave for the poll. This three day leave can be availed a day before, after and on the day of gram panchayat election.

To prove this Maoists have abducted a few officers from Jantri village. Due to this there is high tension in the state. The State Election Commission (SEC) however assures that the poll session will be safe. The Odisha Panchayat Election poll has been divided into five phases for the purpose of smooth and secure conduct of election. Security officials and personnel are being deployed in high numbers so that situation is kept to normalcy throughout the polling session.

The first phase of the election for Odisha Panchayat Election will be conducted on the 13th of February. The next phases will be conducted thereafter. The election session will wind up on the 21st of February 2017. The Odisha Panchayat Election Live Counting of votes will be accomplished after 1 o’ clock in the afternoon and Odisha Gram Panchayat Election Results 2017 shall be declared. The voters will cast votes in the morning till 12 noon.
Odisha Panchayat has nearly 93,000 wards members and more than 800 Zila Parishad members. It also has nearly 6, 000 sarpanchs members and panchayat samiti members each. This time 50 per cent of the total Panchayat seats have been reserved for the female candidates. Here are more than 26 millions of voters in the state who are eligible for Panchayat poll 2017. These voters will decide the fate of more than one lakh candidates who are contesting for poll.

The 2017 Panchayat poll is considered as a litmus test for the ruling party Biju Janta Dal (BJD). The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed confidence of winning the poll with ease. Patnaik claims that his work, schemes, development and infrastructure and other achievements will bring victory to his party. The other two major parties in the state are Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and Congress party.
