Malchand claimed majority with more than 18 thousand against the independent candidate Raj Kumar. Purola Vidhan Sabha seat has been governed simultaneously twice by BJP and once by Congress Party. This year the two opponents, Raj Kumar and Malchand are again fighting for Congress and BJP respectively. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has chosen Ramlal as its representative for the 2017 elections session.

Uttarakhand (Yamunotri) Vidhan Sabha Election Counting -Another constituency of Uttarakhand is Yamunotri. It is numbered at 2 among the 70 constituencies. This constituency was won twice by Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD), once by Indian National Congress (INC). However in 2012 this seat was won by UKD leader, Pritam Singh Panwar with more than 15 thousand votes. This time Purushottam Uniyal is fighting for UKD, Kedar Singh is contesting for BJP, Raj Bahadur Singh Bauddh for BSP and Sanjay Dobhal is contesting for Congress Party. There are other independent candidates in the race as well.

Uttarakhand (Gangotri) Vidhan Sabha Election Counting – Gangotri Vidhan Sabha constituency of Uttarakhand is part of Uttarakhand legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha). It is numbered at 3 among the 70 constituencies. This constituency was won twice by INC, once by BJP simultaneously. It is a general category constituency which means it is open seat. However in 2012 this seat was won by INC leader Vijaipal Singh Sajwan with more than 20 thousand votes. This time Vishnupal Singh Yadav is fighting for UKD, Gopal Singh Rawat is contesting for BJP, Vijaypal Tangani for BSP and Vijaipal Singh Sajwan is contesting for Congress Party. There are other independent candidates in the race as well.
